Overview & General Lounge Operations

Welcome to Toby's Cat Cafe! Our mission is to offer a peaceful, relaxing environment where guests can enjoy great drinks and food while hanging out with our adoptable rescue cats. To keep our cats safe and ensure a great experience for everyone, all guests are required to read and follow this policy while on our premises.

This policy applies to all cafe operations, lounge access, and adoption programs.

Purchase, Entry, and No-Refund Policy

Running a rescue lounge requires strict planning and resources to keep our resident cats fed, healthy, and cared for. Therefore, we maintain a strict no-refund policy across all areas of our business.

All Sales Are Final: Admissions, lounge hourly passes, event tickets, food, drinks, and retail merchandise are completely non-refundable.
Late Arrivals & Cancellations: If you miss your scheduled time or need to cancel, ticket fees will not be refunded.
Adoption Fees: Fees paid toward adoption partners are final once the adoption paperwork is completed.

Adoption Terms & Return Protocols

Every cat living in our lounge is available for adoption through our partner rescues. We work closely with our partners to make sure every cat finds a loving and forever home.

Lifetime Return Protocol: For any cat adopted through Cups and Claws between 2022 and September 30, 2026, the adoption contract explicitly grants adopters the right to return the animal at any point during its lifetime.
How Returns Are Processed: If an adopter needs to return a cat under this contract, you will need to bring a copy of the contract and bring the cat back to our lounge facility after being directed immediately to the originating partner rescue organization, as appropriate, to process the surrender and updated records.
If you find a lost cat, you may not bring it here, but please reach out to local shelters; the cafe serves as a liaison for local shelters and rescues.
All cats in our facility are fully vaccinated, dewormed, and treated for the safety of the colony and our guests. Please reach out to the local animal rescue groups if you need assistance.

Protection of Cats, Liability, and Banning Policy

The safety, physical health, and emotional well-being of our cats are our absolute top priorities. Entering our facility means you agree to handle our resident animals with patience and kindness.

Zero Tolerance for Misconduct: Any guests who intentionally or recklessly harms, mistreats, distresses, or harasses a cat or employee will be immediately removed from the building without no exception to a refund.
Permanent Ban & Legal Action: We reserve the right to permanently ban anyone from returning to Toby's Cat Cafe who violates our animal and staff care standards. In case of deliberate harm, abuse, or property damage, we will cooperate fully with local law enforcement and animal control to press charges against the individual(s).
Assumption of Risk & Liability: While our cats are friendly, animals can be unpredictable at times. By entering the cat lounge, guests assume all risks for minor scratches, nips, or damage to personal belongings (such as snagged clothes). Toby's Cat Cafe and its staff are not liable for personal injuries or property damage resulting from normal interactions with our free-roaming cats.

Essential Lounge Rules

To help us maintain a safe, stress-free haven for our cats and visitors, please keep the following rules in mind during your visits:

Let Cats Be Cats: Please sanitize your hands before entering the lounge, and please allow cats to come to you on their own terms. While the cats are sleeping, please do not pick, wake up, or take photos of them with the flash on.
Watch Little Ones: Children under 14 must be accompanied and actively supervised by an adult at all times to ensure calm, safe interactions.
Respect the Space: Keep noise levels down, avoid sudden running or shouting, and never feed human food or outside treats to the cats.
Socks must be worn in the interaction room: To help prevent the spread of zoonotic diseases, no outdoor shoes can be worn

What is the adoption process?

All cats in our lounge are hosted on behalf of our wonderful partner rescue organizations. The adoption process varies slightly depending on which rescue oversees the cat you wish to adopt. Meet Your Match: Visit our lounge to spend time with the cats in person!
Submit an Application: Apply directly with the rescue partner that cares for your chosen cat.
Application Review: The rescue partner will review your application, verify references, and contact you directly for additional questions or regarding approval.
Welcome Home: Once approved by the rescue, you'll schedule a time to pick up your new furry family member!

How do I know which rescue partner oversees a specific cat?

Each cat's profile in our lounge and on our website lists their partner rescue organization along with a direct link to their application. Our staff is also happy to assist you during your visit!

Do I need a reservation to visit the cat lounge, or do you accept walk-ins?

We accept walk-ins! However, if you are planning to host an event or bring a large group of people, you will need to schedule with us in advance.

What payment methods do you accept?

We currently accept credit or debit cards and cash!

How must does it cost to enter the cat lounge?

Entry prices vary depending on the session and day. You can view our current rates and available time slots directly on our booking site.

Are children allowed in the cat lounge?

Yes! Children of all ages are welcomed, but guests 14 and under must be supervised by an adult or guardian at all times while in the lounge.

Do I have to buy food or drinks to visit the cat lounge?

Not at all! Purchasing cafe items is option when visiting the cats.

Can I bring outside food or drinks into the cat lounge?

Yes, you may bring in food and drinks, however, we do offer some snacks and beverages.

Do you offer vegan, dairy-free, or gluten-free options?

We are continuously expanding our menu to include more dietary-friendly items! While many of our current menu items contain gluten or dairy, our staff is happy to go over ingredients with you before you order.

Can I bring my own cat or pet to the cafe?

Please leave your personal pets at home! To keep all animals safe and healthy, outside cats and pets are not permitted.

What are the rules for interacting with the cats?

To keep our rescue cats happy and safe, we ask all guests to follow these lounge guidelines and to review our policies:

Sanitize hands before entering the lounge.
Let cats approach you on their own terms.
Do not disturb sleeping cats - please avoid waking them up, picking them up, or using flash photography.
Keep noise levels down by avoiding shouting or running.
Do not feed human food or outside treats to any of the cats.

Can I host a private event or birthday party here?

Yes! We would love to host your event. Please reach out and book with us in advance so we can reserve the space for you.
